In countries other than the United States, soccer is called football, and it is played with a soccer ball in a field. In this game, two different teams are in place on a field, and metal frames with woven soccer nets, or soccer goals, are behind each team’s members. The object of the game is to kick the ball into the other team’s goal, and the team with the most soccer goals, or points, is the winner.

Players cannot use their hands, so what seems easy is in fact quite challenging, with only the use of their head, bodies, and feet to get the ball into the other team’s goal. However, each team has a goalkeeper who is allowed to use any part of his body, including his hands, to keep the ball out of the soccer net.

The referee will issue you a severe penalty if the ball is touched with your hands while playing. Even if a soccer ball that is airborne collides with another player’s hand, it is known as a hand ball, and the opposing team is given a penalty kick for punishment.

Soccer has to be one of the original sports games every played by people. I can just imagine cave dwellers kicking around the old soccer ball. Or maybe it was a soccer rock? A soccer coconut perhaps? It’s got to be one of the simplest form of sports play imaginable. I mean, really, I kick the ball this way and you try to kick the ball that way. Whether the ball (coconut?) goes more this way or more that way determines the winner. While it may be easy for me to imagine soccer being kicked around by a bunch of caveman sports enthusiasts, the earliest official record of soccer by played was in China about 3000 years ago. Wow, that’s like 750 World Cups, if anyone was keeping track.

In modern soccer, performance is a key factor for professionals. This performance depends not only on his mental and physical shape, but also on good footwear. An essential part of the footwear is the soccer cleat, also known as studs. The soccer shoes are specially equipped with cleats that prevent players from slipping and assist in rapid changes of direction.

There are different types of cleats for the different sports, such as rugby cleats, baseball cleats, soccer cleats, cleats for track, etc. Most sports played on grass or dirt require the use of cleats for athlete’s stability.

The difficulty to play soccer on different types of ground was recognized early on in the history of soccer. That meant that the sole of the soccer shoes needed to offer proper resistance or ground traction.

At first, metal tacks similar to those of engineers’ boots were used. These metal tacks could be dangerous and their use was forbidden by Rule 13 of the FIFA regulations for the safety of the players. Eventually leather soccer cleats (or studs) replaced these tacks.
